Notes/Thoughts
This is the story of the woman with the issue of blood
This woman could not be apart of society for 12 years because her condition made her unclean
Her desperation moved Him! He could physically feel power leave His body
That is why Jesus said, "Who touched me."
Everyone around Him was touching Him to get attention or to get something from Him, but the woman was desperate. She was hurting. I am sure she had tried everything and Jesus was her last hope.
She thought if I could just touch the him of His garment, I can be healed. I don’t even think she thought He would notice. I can only imagine that she was just passively get her healing and Jesus would just continue forward.
Jesus noticed her! He felt her through the crowd. He was moved by her faith and desperation for just a quick touch from Him!
Are desperate for the Lord? Are we desperate enough to push our way through the crowd to get to Him?
Our worth has nothing to do with God’s ability to heal us!
Jesus stopped to speak to the woman who touched Him although He was on the way to heal another girl.
Nothing is more important to God than stopping and encountering us on our journeys. He knows that when we are desperate for Him, He has to show up for us because He cares! The woman touching Him and getting her healing was not enough, Jesus HAD to speak with her. She was no longer a stranger, Jesus called her “daughter.” Jesus said not only have you been healed, your faith has saved you!!
Jairus, the synagogue leader, needed healing for his daughter and didn’t understand why God would stop for this strange woman. While Jesus felt that HIS daughter needed Him too. He was able to heal and save the woman and continued on to heal this man’s daughter too.
What is God saying to me?
It is time to draw near
I am moved by your relentless faith and determination
I am GOD and I want to show up for you!
Even on the way to heal another, I love you so much and I WILL stop to encounter you
How can I walk this out?
No matter what you do, stay close to the Father
The woman told Jesus the WHOLE truth in verse 33, have I been honest with the Lord. He wants to hear what has been troubling me for some time
I can trust GOD!
I need to be desperate for God, not money, career, or status. Those things can NOT change me situation the way the Lord can. If I want more of Him and more encounters with Him, I need to stay at the feet of Jesus!
