Notes/Thoughts
We live in a time where it is really important to share our testimonies and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Not feeling up to it? Not feeling qualified to spread the gospel?
Well, you can! You don't have to be a preacher or a bible scholar to tell people about Jesus.
How do we do this?
Tell your own redemption story!!!!
In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus is saying GO and make disciples! We have to trust that when we go, He will FILL us!! He will give us the words to speak and His anointing will fall on us as we operate as His hands and feet.
There is something that happens when we recall the first time we encountered the Lord. We have to look back where we came from not to glorify our sin or the enemy that had us bound BUT to marvel at what God has done. We were lost and now we are found! We have a story to tell!
If we keep our relationship with God a secret, then we aren’t actually loving people well. The more we tell our stories, the more Jesus becomes more than a stranger or just a name to people, He becomes their Savior!
The world wants us to shut up and keep our “silly” God to ourselves but we can’t! Share Him on social media, in your work places, with your friends, and family!
This is how we share our story…
1. Recall life before Christ-where were you? Who or what told you about Jesus? How did you come to know about Him?
2. Share when you encountered Jesus for the first time?
3. What resulted in your encounter with Christ? What does life look now that the Lord has brought you into salvation?
What is God saying to me?
You have to love people enough to step out to share the story of how I delivered you into salvation
Don’t be afraid, I want to use YOU to draw people to me. (1 John 4:4)
I came so that all my have life and life more abundantly, even the person you think is too far gone is a great candidate for salvation! (John 10:10)
When you tell people what I did for you it brings GLORY to my name, just be willing to speak up, I will fill your mouth with what to say. (Luke 12:11-12)
There will be people who will NOT want to hear what you have to say and THAT IS OKAY! We have to keep moving forward no matter what happens along the way. It is our job to live out loud for the Lord and plant seeds everywhere that we go! (Acts 22:18)
When we win someone for Christ, don’t just stop there. Check in on them. Invite them to church or small group! Invite them into the fold so that they can be apart of a Godly community! (Hebrews 10:24-25)
How can I walk this out?
Never get self righteous and forget that the Lord found me in a pit and saved me!
If I don’t open my mouth then how will the people that I come in contact with know about Jesus and what He did for me?
I don’t have to share every hard detail of my past, I can just open up about where I was and now I am saved! Although the beginning of my story was full of sin, God STILL got the glory out of my suffering!
I can’t judge people into the arms of Christ, I can only love people into His safe arms.
If someone asks for proof tell them that I AM the proof! I was one way and then all of a sudden I met Jesus and now I am completely different. He saved me!
