It is my birthday!! Friend, I can’t believe that I am 28 years old now. I am what the students call “old” at my job. Ha! Although that is a pretty big number, I feel so grateful and so blessed. This past year I have been living in the blessings that I prayed a long time for. I got married to the most incredible man who absolutely adores me! We went on our dream Disney honeymoon and as soon as we got back we started our life. I live in a cozy house where I have been slowly getting walls decorated with memories, new decor, and thrifted pieces! Things have honestly gone so smoothly! Despite living away from my family for the very first time, I have still maintained my relationship with them! I have enjoyed going over my parents house and hanging out to watch movies and catch up! I thought I would be homesick and feel as though I am missing so much being away from my siblings, but I have actually feel very included still and I love that!
My marriage is blessed and that overflows into everything else in my life. Joshua and I decided to attend my home church together. Together we lead worship every Sunday and we are so fulfilled and blessed because of it. I love being faithful to God and our local church. This was an answered prayer for sure since we were having a little trouble figuring out where the Lord wanted us. Pineview Church is our home and we are being used for the glory of God there. My job has been a breath of fresh air. Being an office administrator isn’t what I want to do forever, but this year I’ve been trusting to God with where I am at. I would love to be self-employed making money posting on my blog but until I get there, I am working in the office. The blessing is that I have the best co-workers and a boss who looks out for us all! No better holding place than this! God is so good and I wanted to share with you what I hope and pray for this year!
I pray that we can start a family this year
When Joshua and I got married, we decided to wait to have children until we went on a few trips, just the two of us. We were able to travel to Orlando, Florida for our honeymoon, Wisconsin for Harry Potter Live, Downtown Chicago for some city fun, and this past February we went on an all inclusive Norwegian Caribbean cruise. Now that we have explored and did what we set out to do, we are wanting to start a family! This is incredibly exciting and we have been praying that the Lord would have His way in this part of our marriage! I pray that Joshua and I will walk into this new season while still maintaining our beautifully strong relationship. I can’t wait to share when we are officially expecting! I pray that the will of the Lord be done through us! I pray for patience, that if it takes some time to get pregnant that I would trust the Lord’s timing! I pray that I would remember that the Lord is in control no matter how knowledgeable I am about conceiving! He is in control!
I hope to make an outside oasis in my backyard
Last year was incredibly busy and we didn’t really get a chance to start our flower garden or finish the fire pit. Now that we are settled and have the time, I want to start prepping our flower beds to plant flowers in May! I want flowers everywhere! Just this weekend I told Joshua that I wanted to also insatl some flower boxes underneath the exterior windows. I feel like that would give our house so much character and dress it up a bit! We have some work to do for sure but once it is done, it’ll be my little summer oasis! last summer we also started digging up a portion of our backyard to start a fire pit! We just need to install the brick wall around the circular fire pit ring! I hope to find nice lawn chairs in facebook marketplace so we can lounge around the fire in style! We hope to invite family over to grill and sing songs around the fire! Sis, I am excited about the summer and all the amazing things we will do in our backyard!
I hope to lean into true contentment
Ya’ll I am blessed. I know that I keep saying that but I really am. Thank yo Jesus! My marriage, my family, and my relationship with God are all beaming with goodness tight now. I think the only thing that I struggle with from time to time would be how God will bless specifically in the area of finances. My husband is working toward becoming an electrician which is awesome that he has a goal! God’s hand is on him and he WILL be successful! I have been thinking about what the Lord wants me to do. My job is a blessing but I know that He has more. I want to experience contentment that only comes from Him. I want to trust Him with my future in its entirety. Not just in my marriage but also with my career in whatever He wants. I ray that this year I will work this job with a genuine smile on my face knowing good and well that my future is bright because it is in the hands of the Father.
I pray to have a dynamic prayer life
Before I open my mouth to speak, I want to pray to my heavenly Father. Before I go to my husband I want to go to God. This year I want to lean onto my father in prayer. I want to take every single thing to Him! It is so easy to get on the phone and call a loved one to tell them all that is happening in your life, good or bad. However, I want the Lord to be the first to know in all things. I want to get up to prayer and go to sleep to prayer. This year I will have a more dynamic prayer life! I want more of the Lord and more of His presence and I believe that we get that sitting in prayer with Him. Prayer is the direct line to Him so why don’t we pray more. This year I will.
I hope to build this blog
Now that I have been consistent with posting here on the blog, I want to learn how to grow it. I am not sure how or where to start BUT I will do some research! I on spring break this week so I have time! Thank you Jesus! I want to grow this blog for two reasons. The first reason is to spread the Gospel! I want people to learn about Jesus and grow deeper in their relationship with Him by telling my stories and testimony. God is so good and He is so real and I want people to know that. Secondly, i would love to grow this blog so that I can prayerfully do this full time at some point, One Joshua and I start a family I hope that I could make money posting on the blog so I can have the privilege of staying home with my children. The Lord gave me this to do and steward over, so I want to become knowledgeable with all things blog related! I can do this!
